The Rough Draft Challenge – I Failed… Again

So, NaNoWriMo, Rough Draft Challenge, whatever you want to call it, seems to come at a spectacularly bad time for me. November just seems to be such a month of personal turmoil that it is so hard to write to a daily goal. I have come to the conclusion that this time of challenge is just not for me, even though I love participating in the communities that surround them.

I am not just making excuses either. I started a new job this month as a ‘travel’ medical technologist, after being out of work for the summer. I traveled all the way across the country, from one coast to the other, with one suitcase and my backpack, basically, a wing and a prayer. Then I started a job at a new hospital in a new community and spent 2 weeks or so getting up to speed, right in the middle of the challenge window. It is only the last few days, as I spent Thanksgiving alone, with my husband and pets on the other side of the country, that I have begun to get back in the writing groove.

So, here’s to a hopefully productive December with lots of holiday cheer.
